你知道“heavy going”是什么意思吗？这个短语通常表示“（书、戏剧等）枯燥，难懂”：

Although the author is quite famous, I find his book extremely heavy going.

You'd better get going now in case you miss the bus.

☞get going是一个口语用法，可以用来表示“出发；开始”的意思。表示相同的含义，我们还可以用set out、depart、start off等相对正是的短语和单词。

give credit for则表示“相信某人有”的意思。我们看一下在句子中是如何应用的：

She has more ability than they give her credit for.
她的能力比他们所相信的还要强。

你知道“on the credit side”是什么意思吗？这个短语其实可以用来表示“从好的方面说”，例如：

On the credit side, he passed the exam this time.
